In late October, Shanda Hill became the first woman to complete the Triple Deca Continuous Triathlon in La Garda, Italy, finishing in 41 days. The Vernon native has already etched her name in the Hall of Fame for her over 100 ultra-distance triathlons. So, in the latest edition of Okanagan Sports Pulse, Bowen sits down with Shanda Hill to discuss the feat, and try to understand what goes in on her mind during those excruciating days. But before this interview, Bowen recaps the past few weeks in the Okanagan, and finishes up with the performer of the week.
Eli McKamey is the first ever player in the BCHL to be granted exceptional status. While the WHL has had nine, the BCHL has never had one until 2024, when the juggernaut Penticton Vees signed the 15-year-old phenom out of Cowichan Bay. Penticton Western News’ Logan Lockhart joins the podcast to discuss the signing of McKamey and what the expectations are of the player.
But, before this, in the inaugural episode of OSP, host Bowen Assman outlines the structure for the new weekly podcast, including the Weekly Round Up, and Top Performer of the Week.
